The Big Walk
It's nearly impossible to turn on the TV, open up a web browser, or scroll through Twitter without being assaulted with notifications of negative news stories.
Do you wish that more positive stories were shared celebrating what we are thankful for and to share what makes us feel hopeful about the place we live in?
If so, then read on and join us at this lunch event.
The Big Walk tells the story of connected communities, showing the rich diversity of the communities that make up the backbone of the UK, with the walk itself demonstrating the commonality that we all share.
Starting on the 15th May 2018 four walkers and the route crews will set off from Morecambe, Lancashire . Each route heads towards a different destination in the UK in Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales and England, reaching home in time to celebrate The Big Lunch on Sunday 3rd June, a day when millions of people across the UK will be coming together and having lunch with their neighbours, in the heart of their own community.
The Scotland route will be arriving in Carlisle on Friday 18th May ( timings will be confirmed nearer the time. ) and this event is for those who
- Want to welcome the walkers to Carlisle
- Knows or runs a community project or existing community event that you would like to be visted on 18th May that like some limelight.
