Discovered after sixty years this is a film of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visiting Carlisle to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the city. The colour film was found in a cupboard and has been restored. This ‘time capsule’ into the past will be shown for the first time, along with other great nostalgic films of Carlisle at a special show.
It’s a special date as it is exactly sixty years to the day since the Octocentenary celebrations were held.
